Speck President & CEO MATT MAUSSER named Man of the Year by the local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)! Matt raised over $100,000 for blood cancers research. Great job Matt! Thanks for all of your hard work and persistance in this fight!
The reason for raising money is that although someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer every four minutes, there is a great hope for the future. LLS is the world's largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and families.
Leukemia research hits home for Matt. You see, Matt's father, Joe died at the young age of 50 from leukemia. Matt's sister didn't have the chance for her father to walk her down the isle at her wedding. Matt's kids will never have the chance for their grandfather to read them a book or go fishing with them. Matt's goal is to prevent as many families as possible from experiencing such a loss. By his raising over $100,000 he is closer to that goal. He isn't stopping there! Matt will continue to raise funds. He will continue to fight this blood cancers battle and he will continue to impact families in a positive way with his efforts.
